Mariko Sawamura moves back to Japan from California to live with her relatives after an unfortunate incident that resulted in the deaths of her parents. When she moves to Tokyo after having lived in the countryside of Kyoto for three years, life becomes even more hectic in the busy city. There she meets a boy who gives her a sight to the secret sky and world of supernatural beings that lives alongside the humans. But that's not the end of her problems: superior clans in the supernatural world seek her out for reasons she don't even know and a gate has been unlocked.
