Alex knows this better than anyone; he used to be someone who tolerated life and what it threw at him. Then, things happened. Things changed; he changed. Too late, it would seem, though--for the countdown clock on Alex's life, as well as the safety of Hyrule, has begun. Ganondorf and his minions have returned to Hyrule, and Alex, the only one who can wield the Master Sword and defeat them, has had his soul torn apart.
Meanwhile, back home in Three Hills, Missouri, present day, Alex's twin is having just as many problems. His life seems perfect-- nothing unusual ever happens, he gets good grades, and he and Celia are finally together. But beneath the surface, trouble lurks--for here, too, Alex is slowly dying. Dizzy spells, date scrambles, and even forgetting names he's known his whole life--soon, even Alex is starting to feel like part of him is missing.
The race against the clock is on. Will Alex be able to save his friends? Hyrule? But most of all, himself?

Five years later, Link is a 16-year-old man with severe depression and a Hero chosen by the Master Rifle. He is still in love with Zelda and thinks about her every second of his life. One day, Link saves a woman from the Yiga clan members, and that woman turns out to be Zelda. She tells him about where she has been for the past five years, and once Link finds out the truth, he dedicates his days to helping Zelda feel safe and happy again away from her selfish, rich father Rhoam and her forced fiance, Ganondorf. While Link and Zelda try to save themselves from the abuse, an evil prince from another country declares war on Hyrule in hopes of annexing the kingdom, and Link must go to war, leaving Zelda. ***I've been wanting to write this for AWHILEEEEE! I'm a little late to this party but due to TOTK season upon us, I thought of this fun little fanfic that is BOTW x MM. I might be back on my smut writing a bit too ;)*** The calamity has perished, and with it the dawn of a new age now rises for Hyrule. The Hebra Region, home to the Rito and diamondized crystals of the most frigid snow. The Gerudo Region, home to the Gerudo and its idyllic sifted sands that carry the feet of its many merchants. The Lanayru Region, home to the Zora and its romantic domain of crystalline waterfalls and pellucid riverbends. The Eldin Region, home to the Goron and its clusters of thermal hot springs amongst the temperamental volcanoes. Our story takes place not in the humid desert of the Gerudo nor the slushy foothills of the Rito, but in Akkala; the region of eternal autumn. Y/N works beneath Robbie at the Akkala tech lab mending the guardian forces besotted by Princess, soon to be Queen Zelda. A guardian technician by day and a devoted historian by night, Y/N is infatuated with the legend of the Hero of Time. This hero spoke of his adventures in a parallel universe called 'Termina,' where his heroic deeds were forgotten. Regarded a madman by his peers; it isn't until the blood moon rises once more, that the newfound age of peace of Hyrule is tossed into peril. With a fiery moon threatening to swallow Hyrule whole, it is up to Y/N to solve the mystery of the fallacy known as 'Termina.' Was the Hero of Time telling the truth? And does the current hero of the calamity and Queen Zelda's appointed knight have any insight? They named the first daughter Zelda, hoping the Goddess Hylia would answer their prayers and keep the tradition of her unlocked the sacred power to seal Calamity Ganon. The second daughter, (Y/n), was hidden from the public eye at the request of the King. Zelda spent almost her whole life with government studies and prayer being stuffed into her face, her personal passions being frowned upon. (Y/n), on the other hand, had no duties to fulfill and instead studied alongside her sister, became a knight, and made a certain special friend. The princess kept a wary eye on the half-eaten apple that he had set back down on his bedside writing desk. He seemed oblivious to the twisted symbolism of it all. Forbidden fruit. The poisoned apples of the fairytales that their governess read to them as children. Could he really be so blind? The people rejoiced in the streets of Castle Town. They made gracious offerings in the plowing fields of the southern provinces, nestled against the far stretches of Faron Woods. The Kingdom of Hyrule celebrated the newfound peace after the plight of the Twili, and the final death of Ganondorf. They looked to the skies and they saw a god. He became a vessel for their torment. He grieved for them. He carried their burden on his shoulders. The weight of that weapon, of which had singed its mark deeply into the palm of his hand, would never leave him. The hushed voices of the scorned spirits resonated within the blade, their whispers lilting and lamenting in his ears. Those damned voices dissipated everytime that seraph prince held him in his soft gaze.

Check out Rin's Legendarium to listen :) A land at peace, Hyrule has lived on for three hundred years, benefitting from the actions of a princess, a hero, and a group of holy sages who did everything in their power to save it. But, as with most ages of peace, it has a fleeting nature. The beast, Ganon, has risen again, released from his magical prison by none other than Goddess Hylia herself. She has her reasons for doing so, but are they selfish ones? While she toils with the humanness of morality, Yami, a lesser god driven by revenge and hatred for Hylia, takes on his own immoral journey to obliterate her. Using the gullibility of a thirteen year old boy named Rinku who he convinces is the newfound "legendary hero," Yami weaves a complex plan, also involving the Shuen, a Ganon-worshipping cult bent on ensuring the beast's survival. All the while, time is running out, as the three Golden Goddesses have plans to flood the entire land as a measure to stop Ganon from consuming everything. Hylia, Yami, and Rinku must work against these plans for their own self-serving reasons, but how can anyone stop the highest-ranking goddesses known to Hyrule? Sometimes, shadow must be utilized in order for peace to reign. But how much darkness must overtake the light for the world to be saved yet again?
