Our damaged world, caused by centuries of a climate changing faster than we could adapt, is very different from the place our parents grew up in. We have survived riots, famines and plagues but there has only been one thing on my mind for the last few decades: finding my brother.

With higher and higher temperatures being reached across the globe every year, it's difficult to deny that we're not being affected by climate change. There isn't much literature out there that normalises the changes happening to our planet, so Pandora is an exploration of the world that our children may be living in.

Pandora follows Tam's story. Born in the present day, Tam is living in a future shaped by us and is trying to survive in a world no longer as plentiful as it used to be. Travel has become difficult so it is only the fear of dying before reconciling with a brother who disappeared decades ago that has forced Tam to risk the journey.

The idea for Pandora was conceived after reading the Global Warming of 1.5°C report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. A global temperature rise of 1.5°C leads to some terrifying effects on our planet and there isn't much out there exploring what everyday life would be like in such a world. Numbers don't mean much when they're only on paper, and there won't be any of the drastic changes required to make a difference until we start being seriously affected ourselves. And by that time it will be too late. Pandora is a cautionary tale about what will happen if we don't do enough in the little time we have available.

For what seems to be endless life cycles of seasons after seasons after seasons, the people of the planet, Caswuna, lived a respectable and healthy life. The changes the people of this world went through were not anything drastic. Everyone realized they had to take charge more than their usual everyday activities. Because of the global economic catastrophe, most, if not all forms of government, through the many nations, were silenced. Slowly but surely, the small groups found out how to save their water... by not washing clothes or using less of the clothing they had. They came to realize they had to wear something from elements of nature. Many but not all tribe members learned to live without the domination of materialism, like clothes. This story can speak to us today. We can't let greed, industrialism, and the simplest details of life dictate our personal, cultural, and national lives. We can live without these industrial standards if we want to hard enough. Don't let shiny objects be an obsession. It is never what we have or do that is the issue, but it could be how we live our own lives. Never live in our comfort zones. It will always destroy you in the end. This story is about a young adult female, Elenwen Aurora Shade on how she will enlighten and guide all the people of villagers around her to a wonderful future while going back to the era that nearly destroyed itself because of greed and power that has change a lot all around them.

Five Star Reviews for Atlantis Academy: "Omg this book was amazing I couldn't put it down or stop reading. I carried it with me open on my phone while I did everything just to keep reading. I need more of all of this. Epic story, epic content, epic visuals, just epic. LOVE THIS!" "Once I got into this story, I did not stop reading it. This is a beautiful story about a very awkward girl who is riven with so much pain and angst and yet... this makes her who she is and shapes her into the person she will become. The world she finds herself awakened to is magical and yet filled with the all-too-familiar cliques and tribes of the very human people who inhabit it. One word to describe the story: beautiful!" "The story pulls you headlong to the end and leaves you wanting to shout "No! Not yet!" ...If there were 6 stars, I would have given it that." *** Humanity is one secret society away from extinction. The children of Atlantis use magic to keep us safe. If they make it through the Academy. Hi, I'm Lyric. And I'm kind of a mess. ADHD, that's me. I'm a high school drop-out, late everywhere I go, and one screw-up away from being homeless. I'm a loner, and I like it that way. Who needs friends when you have a Redwood forest nearby? Trees never bully me like the kids did at school. Or get drunk and throw things at my head. After my mom died, I figured life couldn't get much worse. I thought it might even get better. Ha. The universe has a great sense of humor. I should've listened to the rumors about evil spirits. About the angry, ancient magical creatures haunting our small Oregon Coast town. But did I? No. That was my first mistake. And it might be my last. 'Cause now I'm in a battle for my life. A whole new world has opened up... a magical world I don't understand. And the blood in my veins says I belong here. But I have to prove myself to save myself. And when have I ever done that?

Highest ranked- #10 in action 2/16/2017 A promotion. That's all I wanted. I didn't want to run for my life. I didn't want to be kidnapped. I didn't want to face death. I didn't want to find out my whole life was a lie. I just wanted a bloody promotion. Guess fate had other plans? **** The cold air fanned over my face as I opened the door. The exit door lead to the back of the building so it was pitch black. I leaned against the wall trying to control myself. Blood was running down my arm and head. My hair was stuck to my face from all the sweat and blood. Everything was spinning around me and the ground seemed like it was shaking. Groaning I sat down and put my head on my knees. He knows who I am. He knows how I look like. He knows where I work so possible knows where I live. I am not safe anymore... no where. While I was in my own world I heard faint sounds behind me but I didn't bother to look or run away. The footsteps got closer and I was pretty sure it was Walker's men. I should run. I should try to fight. But what's the point in trying to run away? He would eventually find me and if he has his way he would most likely kill me. If this is my fate then why am I trying to fight it? I felt someone harshly grab my waist and pull me up and I complied. They dragged me down the alley and into the busy street. I heard the opening of a car and the next thing I knew I was being thrown into a car. My head hit the hard leather seat and the door shut behind me. Maybe this is how my life will end. Maybe I should just let it happen. Maybe I was destined to die alone as a no one. With that I let the darkness consume me.

This is an interesting and very enjoyable story to read. this story is based on my fantasy world that i created, Emaranta. This world is a utopian world that is all about thriving. My story is about treasure/ mystery hunters. They find a map from a long time ago but not just any map an actual pirate map. Welcome, dear reader, to a tale of high spirits and hilarious misadventure! This is the story of three teenagers from the fantastical world of Emaranta: Fredrick Deleman, the easy-going adventurer; Bailey Knosing, the clever and occasionally clumsy strategist; and Sandra Harris, the sharp and surprising new friend they haven't even met yet. Our story begins in the gleaming, sprawling metropolis of Dunya, a city in the United States of Amazon, where the suns shine bright and the rules are made to be... creatively interpreted. Bored out of their minds on a mandatory family vacation cruise-courtesy of well-meaning but utterly clueless parents-our trio (once they become a trio) find themselves banned from most of the ship's activities after a... well, let's call it a "pool noodle incident" of epic proportions. Forced to create their own fun, they stumble upon a mystery that will whisk them away from the boring lido deck and onto a road less traveled, leading them straight into the heart of my fictional world, Emaranta. Here, the normal rules don't apply. There is no death, no sorrow, no disease. It's a paradise where humanoids and animanoids live in perfect, hilarious harmony. What might look like magic to you is just another Tuesday here. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Why don't you read along and see for yourself? The adventure is just beginning.
