Minnie Thomas had been shocked in her first year when she'd been sorted into Hufflepuff along with Albus, a member of two famously Gryffindor families, but she'd been even more shocked five years on when the two had been appointed Hufflepuff prefects. she had always been fairly mischievous as she is easily bored so she had no idea what McGonagall was thinking, she was very much her Father's Daughter and that wasn't about to change because she was a prefect now.
But alas, as in most teenagers lives, there are mood swings, hormones and plenty of drama.
