Aster, a 13 year girl heads to a special boarding school where all the students have their own horse... except for her. She goes to the school anyway, determined to succeed. One night when she is out in the forest she finds a wild horse, when she gets back to the school she realizes that the horse followed her all the way back. She tries to release the horse back into the wild but every time she comes back. Eventually she realizes that this horse may be her ticket to succeeding in school, Aster decides to keep her as her own and names her Liberty because of her free spirit.
