My name is Lyra Daniels.
After graduating from high school and university, I was lucky to find a job.
I love my job but there's one thing that's bothering me.
For the past three years that I've been attending our New Years' Eve party, there has always been a guy who somehow manages to catch my eye.
The weird part? He would disappear and I would only see him each New Years Eve.

"Happy New Year!!"
Everywhere I looked I heard and saw everyone cheering, laughing, sending wishes and kissing.
Turning my head to wish my friend a Happy New Year, I was met with soft lips against my own.
It was the type of kiss that makes you close your eyes instantly and surrender completely.
When those lips left mine, I opened my eyes and to my surprise it was the mystery colleague in front of me.
I blinked to be sure and he was gone.

I look up at him, his face nothing but a hazy memory. His head is tilted down towards me and I think about how odd it must be for him too. If we kissed, would we find each other's lips? "Silly boy - you dare ask me that question?" I frown at him instantly - taken aback when he gripped my chin. Yanking me close enough towards him, our lips almost touched. It was just a normal day for the school's established rich and openly gay hottie, Kayden Parker, when all of sudden he gets a whole load of smirks, heated gazes and cocky smiles thrown his way from an unknown Greek God that was probably trying fuck shit up for him, he definitely seemed to be the type... ---I felt a heated glare on my shoulders, you know, that weird feeling you get when you know someone's watching you. Lesson Learned {Student Teacher Romance}
My whole life is 'have to.' I have to work full-time to pay the bills and keep food on the table. I have to finish college for a chance at a better job, no matter how long it takes. I have to manage my mom's sobriety so I can keep her out of jail. I have to keep a smile on my face, so no one knows how hard it's been. Now, I have to ignore the curious feelings that flutter in my chest whenever my devastatingly handsome new English professor, Fitzwilliam Benedict, is nearby. Of course, that's kind of impossible because I have to face his storm-tossed eyes and broad shoulders in class every other evening if I want to graduate with my perfect grade-point intact. And it's getting harder to ignore the way his thoughtful gaze sees all the way down to the truth I don't want anyone to know. "'Bye.' I say after Edwin's kiss. He gives me a small smile that honestly looks more like a grimace. It makes me a little uncomfortable having him kiss me in the library.
