This is a short story that I wrote in April 2014 for a school assignment. It was for English Studies, and I had to write a 1000 words or less short story on a topic of my choice. I chose to write about a storm, which is actually a metaphor for something else. Read it to find out.
My teacher entered my story into a competition and as a result, it has been short-listed for the SAETA Young Writers' Award.
I'm really proud of myself for achieving this, and I'd just like to share this with you all.

[STORY NOT EDITED] She was in love with him because he was her home when she needed to hide from the storm, he was her sun in rainy days, he was her cure when she was hurt and whenever she needed arms to hold her tight or hands to wipe away her tears, he was right by her side even without asking. And for him, it was like a sinner that finally found a church to clean him. He needed her to find himself back, he needed her to fix him. She knew that he wasn't perfect but she loved his imperfection. COMPLETED✅ Two high school teenagers finding themselves, analyzing this ever changing world, and building love. This is the type of love you wish you found in high school but probably know way too well that it only exists as fiction. The passenger window rolls down, and I spot the most unexpected person seated behind the wheel. "Get in" comes out his voice, and I must've stood there agape for a few moments because next comes his rhetorical question. "Are you getting in or continuing walking in the rain?" Eyebrows raised expectantly.
