What if the zodiac really could influence your life?
Wheelchair-bound Lia Harte is the only Capricorn in her school, isolated and shunned. When her parents bring her to Arizona for surgery she learns the truth: she is fated to become a mermaid.
Dr Redmond, who performs the surgery, seems to be keeping some sinister secrets. On top of that, his gorgeous son Andrew is pleasant and friendly one minute, and an absolute bastard the next. When he tells Lia that he has fallen in love with her, can she trust him?
Betrayed and terrified, Lia ends up fighting for her life and fleeing across America with Andrew. Will they make it to the ocean before Dr Redmond tracks them down?
And if they do... what hope does a freaky fish-girl have of holding onto the guy she's fallen in love with?
