Phoenix Jamie Black is alone. Or maybe she's lonely. She can't always tell the difference between the two. Phoenix had trouble feeling the sense of emptiness that came from having no constant, from having no true family. It wasn't until her first year at Hogwarts where she found her family, her solace amongst those who were supposed to be her rivals.

She is the Snake amongst the Lions.
Something is aching within her, an ancient magic clawing itself to her surface. She could almost feel it begging for it to be released.

Phoenix just wants to make it through her Hogwarts years, preferably alive. The dangers seem to be lurking around every corner, the darkness seems to be growing and spreading. And all she can think is; 'Harry Potter, what have you dragged me into now?'
