A small town is corrupted when a purple fog swallows it whole, making those who are engulfed into it an undead creature. The reader, a sixteen year old girl just wanting to survive, has taken shelter in the high school bathrooms. Many months later, the same girl has made her home in the school, using supplies from the nurses office to her own advantage. But it is until she goes out for food and weapons, finding a Walmart still fully stocked. . .somehow. . .she finds a "friend" along the way.
