Daniel Howell was having a wonderful life until his parents decided to adopt someone kid named Meredith Anderson. Then Dan found out just before he moved to university that his sister was transgender and started calling him Matthew. Dan's parents didn't believe their now trans son, who kept taking Dan's old clothes. In 2010 Dan decided to move in with Phil Lester, someone he had met at university, he had asked Matt if he would like to stay with him instead of their parents. Matt said yes before Dan finished his sentence. Matt now lives with Dan and Phil. Matt knew Dan was gay before Dan did. Then later that month Dan made a video of him coming out, Matt helped him. Matt also knew Dan had feelings for Phil. Matt helped Dan ask out Phil, after he had helped Phil with his coming out video. Now and then Matt will appear on Dan's and Phil's channel along with the gaming channel and sometimes on their YouNow shows when their do their live shows. Dan is doing the best he can to get Matt everything he needs. Dan loves his younger brother. He would do anything to help Matt out. Dan's other brother, Adrian Howell, helped out a little bit from time to time but not always. Matt stayed closer to Dan.
