Mikaelson & Gilbert (Kolena)
The story begins at the Mikaelson Ball in Season 3, Episode 14 of The Vampire Diaries.
It centers on Kol and Elena-and the unexpected, complicated way they fall in love.
When Elena is suddenly sent one thousand years into the past, she finds herself in a time before the Mikaelsons became the Original vampires. They are still human. Henrik, the youngest sibling, is still alive. Everything is different-and yet heartbreakingly familiar.
Elena wasn't sent back by accident. She's there for a reason: to save herself, her friends, and perhaps even change the fate of the Originals. But she doesn't know how. As she searches for answers, she grows close to the entire Mikaelson family-especially Rebekah and Kol. What begins as caution slowly turns into trust. What begins as curiosity slowly turns into something far more dangerous.
But time is never without consequences.
When Elena eventually returns to the present, nothing will be the same. The bonds she formed in the past may rewrite the future-and the fragile relationships between the Mikaelson siblings could shift forever.
And the most dangerous question of all remains:
If you change the past... what happens to the present?
