Len Keiri has a dream he thought he could never achieve: become an explorer in a world that had already been discovered. But he's presented with a once-in-a-life opportunity: a chance to explore the Abyss, the last undiscovered place in the world. A great pit tunneling miles deep into the earth, the Abyss is a world in its own, offering great fame and fortune to those who dare to plumb its depths. Those who have seized those offers become legends themselves, passed along with stories of the great pit. But of course, every rose has its thorn.
Unforgiving environments unlike those on the surface, deadly creatures that far outsmart the human mind, and ailments that afflict those who try to return home from the depths. The Abyss welcomes outsiders, but it doesn't treat them kindly, and it doesn't want to let them go. And if it does, it more often than not keeps their sanity in exchange for their freedom.
However, Len doesn't care. He's willing to throw himself headlong into the Abyss, no matter how far he has to go, no matter what it costs him. But what does that actually entail, and is he truly willing to sacrifice everything?
