Gina Porter loved living in Salt Lake City. Her best friend was right next door and she had two loving parents. When her dad died in a freak accident she built up walls, and begged her mom to leave the city. Ricky Bowen was crushed when his best friend left town right before her first day of middle school. Gina quickly understands that Salt Lake simply isn't what it used to be anymore and that Ricky just isn't interested in her anymore. She's fine with that, she understands that, so she keeps her distance and befriends senior EJ Caswell and his adorable cousin. When Gina meets Nini though, it was a connection like no other. But this is Ricky's friend and honestly she wants nothing to do with anyone in Ricky's life. Gina quickly becomes her true self with EJ and Ashlyn, but to all others? She's the intimidating not so new girl who's solely focused on herself. Nini isn't having any of that. She wants to know why Ricky hates this girl when she's just so darn cute. So she gives herself a mission, to break down her walls and maybe just maybe have her in her life. ------------- Teen/Mature Audiences A Slow-Burn.
