On August 25th, 2010, an extraordinary and unimaginable event unfolded. She escaped with her 1-year-old son, Alma, and sought refuge in a secluded cabin nestled deep in the woods on the outskirts of Atlanta. The dense forest provided a sense of seclusion and safety, shielding them from the chaos and uncertainty that had engulfed their lives.
