After losing her mother in a traffic accident, Kairi Tanaka found herself living all alone in a tent in the woods. But little did she know that those woods were the property of the renowned Shinzou family. Riku and Axel Shinzou, who lived in the house not too far from where Kairi was staying, discovered her and, feeling sorry for her, decided to let her stay with them for a little while. Riku happened to go to the same high school as Kairi, and he was also one of the most popular boys in school(with his own fan club) so Kairi was more than shocked to be in the same house as "Prince" Riku. All seemed well for a while...until Kairi accidentally stumbled upon the Shinzou family's well-kept secret: whenever one of them is hugged by a member of the opposite sex, or when their bodies are under a lot of stress, they transform into an animal of the Chinese Zodiac!
