Lucy Heartfilia is the gifted one in her family. But she has never been praised for it by her family. She's very intelligent, and talented in many areas such as music, but never gets credit for anything. She is always yelled at and hurt by her family. They favor her younger siblings. She has tried so hard to get praised by her parents, even a simple smile or thumbs up would satisfy her. She has never even seen them smile at her the way they do her younger siblings. At school it's no different, people never look at her for her talent and praise her. They, instead spite her and make fun of her.

Natsu Dragneel is the son of Igneel Dragneel, the most famous record and music producer in all of Japan. He is very popular at school because of it, and his looks also help. He maintains his grades and is also a basketball player on the school team. All the girls are head over heels for him, one smile will cause them all to faint. Sometimes he resents the attention, but accepts it. His real friends always have his back though, they are Gajeel Reddfoxx, Gray Fullbuster, Jellal Fernandes, Levy McGarden, Juvia Lockser, and Erza Scarlett. He can always count on them when he's in a crisis or needs help with something or just someone to talk to.

Igneel is scouting for young talent to produce, so he asked Natsu for help since all the girls are in love with him and all the boys aspire to be like him. He agreed but wasn't excited about all the girls. He gets about tired of the whole thing until the final candidate shows up, she is none other than Lucy Heartfilia.
