Akemi Clayton is normally a non-violent person. Preferring to talk things out or avoid confrontation like the plague, very few things ever bring her to the point of genuinely considering murder. However, the shabbily dressed and probably homeless new hire Akemi's been guilted into employing at her small flower shop is definitely pushing her in that regard. Dabi, who Akemi's certain is entrenched in various unsavory and illegal dealings, seems to be the last person anyone would expect to work at a place like A New Leaf. Unfortunately for both himself and Akemi, desperation and no other easy options force them together for the foreseeable future, and they must figure out how to make their unlikely pairing work. While his criminal activity gives him the skills needed to deal with the relentless harassment Akemi's shop is undergoing, there's something else in the way. The main roadblock, and the reason for Akemi's sudden thirst for murder, is Dabi's attitude problem. He's sarcastic, smug, and generally a menace to anyone he crosses paths with, something that doesn't mesh well with a job that deals primarily with other people. Still, he's the best (and only) option Akemi has. As the two begin to work side by side, Akemi's patience is tested as the urge to smash a flower pot over her employee's head grows, a feat of will made harder by the constant stress she's forced to handle. The daily grind of running a business combined with steadily escalating attacks and a rising group of terrorists might manage to bring the two closer together, or it might end with Akemi covering up a homicide. It's too soon to tell.
