#1 in Science Fiction - 57 days so far! Thank you, readers!

PG-15: [Yes, you read that right. I would recommend teens not read it until they are 16!] Profanity, violence and sexual situations. Warning: There is talk of cutting and suicide. If any of these are triggers for you, please consider that when reading. Take care. Rob

What if death forgot you?

In a future that could be ours, Lizzie, a suicidal teen-age girl, barely navigates her own life. Then everything falls apart. In an apocalyptic land nearly deserted by disease, she lacks reasons to live until a shocking turn of events reveals a phone number. Her call pulls her dangerously cross-country to meet a stranger she thought was dead.

In a world where there is plenty of food, plenty of gas, plenty of space... fear, anger and a lust for power still control the patterns of human life.

This coming of age, edgy young adult novel is the debut of a former alternative high school teacher. If you like this, try Toils and Snares, a Deserted Lands novella, sampled on Wattpad.

❖ Interstellar pilot and ex-adventurer Alex Gallegos must keep their team safe on an icy moon as sentient storms threaten to repeat the tragedy that ended their last career. ❖ Everyone in the United Inhabited Solar Systems (for some reason, UIS for short) knows to stay away from Mahaha. The icy moon is notorious for failed probe landings and research missions that end in tragedy: the only people to ever venture to its surface needed rescuing after just two weeks. When a prestigious research group decides they want a turn, they ask Alex Gallegos to lead the team. Perfectly qualified and haunted by their past, Alex accepts, hoping to make up for old mistakes and get just a little further from the earth they've left behind. Two months into the seven-month mission, the team is struggling with discontent, damaged equipment, and blizzards acting less and less like normal weather. As Mahaha moves out of range of help and the storms take on a more malicious character, Alex must face the one foe they could never have prepared for. Mahaha may or may not be alive. ❖❖❖ Complete. Wattys 2021 Shortlister. Standalone sequel (Rocks Can Dance) coming in 2023. Comments and critiques are both welcome and appreciated. [Complete. Wattys 2023 Winner] The Redding takes you if it knows your name. That's the rule that's kept Meg alive --- or awake, rather --- since the night the world went to hell. Nobody knows where the red stuff came from, but it acts like water, it's in the water, and it falls as rain every night. The people it captures drop like puppets with their strings cut. They're asleep, not dead, and you can wake them if you say their name again. But then they just try to kill you. Meg and the other survivors she's befriended think they've found a stable equilibrium, six weeks after the catastrophe began. Nicknames become real names, and Meg knows she's getting better at identifying safe houses. Her crush discovers that Morse code, like writing, is a safe way to say a Sleeper's name. It's the night after learning it that Meg wakes up just as the nightly rain is starting. Raindrops, as it turns out, can make dots and dashes, too. The Redding can talk. And it's telling her to run. ❖❖❖ Complete. Wattys 2023 Winner. [DISCONTINUED] **MATURE LANGUAGE AND CONTENT** **POSSIBLE TRIGGERS** WATTYS2018 I walk down the staircase, entranced with his sharp, angular features. I notice how his lip curls up at the edge when he sees me. A soft breeze blows his scent across the room, and I can't think. Roses and salty ocean waves fill my nostrils. Add sunlight to the mix- which shouldn't have a smell but Luna, he smells like it- and I'm pretty sure if I could open my mouth, I'd be drooling. 'Mate.' My wolf whispers, giddy. I scramble back up the stairs. ____________________ Opening up when something terrible happens is hard. Near impossible. Jessamine Lightly was as normal as a Lycanthrope could be, but also a self-conscious teenager who felt a little out of place. She never thought that a boy would be interested in her, much less want to date her. Jessa learns too late that not every boy has pure intentions, and the boy she thought loved her, just wanted what was beneath her clothing. Hiding her physical and emotional pain from her family, Jessa copes with scarring memories and revelations. Intent on escaping her personal devil, Jessa plans to leave her pack. But having her mate- that she doesn't want- show up on her doorstep could change everything. Love, pain, twisted agendas and more...Jessamine goes through it all. Can she keep it all together before before someone figures out the true secret hidden in her scars? #724 Rejection 7/29/18 #339 Rejection 2/15/19 #6 empty 8/20/18
