My Boyfriend , Atlas .
" Hey my name is Nthochi... but you can call me Nana. I'm a health Psychologist or atleast I was three weeks ago... I was depressed and unhappy with myself and nothing was going right ... I'm 32 ....unmarried...jobless and currently living with my parents on their farm ... it doesn't sound that bad because you don't understand what it's like to be part of a culture that dictates whom and what a woman should be . The whole of Africa has an obsession, an obsession that women should be locked up in kitchens and should have children for their husbands. That women should be seen and not heard ... but if I'm going to carry nations in my womb , isn't it only fair that I have a voice ? .." , I sit down and pin drop silence. Memoirs of a discontented teen
The raw thoughts of a discontented teen. To say I obsess about the past is an understatement. It takes a long time for me to wrap my head around a relationship after it ends. I'm sitting on the cold hard floor in the bathroom. It's 3:06 in the morning, everybody is asleep and I'm here trying to get through the isolation and depression stage of a breakup. To speed up the process I have my headsets plugged in and I'm listening to melancholy music which is what I normally do when I can't feel or when I've reached the point where I have run out of tears to shed. Call it manufactured grief or the fast food for my sadness.Complete
