Mermaid princess Careena of Pacifica is almost of age to become queen and rule with her betrothed husband, Leomaris.
Everything seems to be going according to plan, her seventeenth birthday is days away, and so is her coronation. As these exciting days near, Careena feels more and more on edge because of her mother's death.
She decides to go out for a swim to clear her mind, without an escort. She goes out to her favorite spot at Crystal Cove to sunbathe.
Careena is caught off guard as a fishing net is thrown over her. There is a couple seconds of chaos, then everything goes black.

The royal guards ambushed the princess and took her away to the witch's house near the ocean. The two white witches agreed to help the princess for her desperate plea to return to her home castle. And stop her brother for his act of disposing his only twin sibling. The two white witches told her to take a swim in the sea before leaving. Before Lucia tries to get out of the water, she was suddenly transformed into a mermaid by the two white witches. There are two ways to break the spell before her time is up by the next month. If Lucia gets a kiss by the merman, she'll be a mermaid for all eternity. If the princess gets a kiss from the prince on land, she will be human again. If not, she will be lost in the world of water.
