14-year-old Blade lives in a town run by a strict society who designs rules just for the injustice of their people. They kill innocent townsfolk for the slightest thing; a mistaken gesture, or a misuse of words. Sometimes they kill for the simple pleasures of seeing someone suffer. The villagers obey every order, stick to every rule. The society have made them think that every time they do something that's not completely perfect, they deserve to die.
Blade thinks differently. He knows what his society is doing is wrong, and has an idea. He is to set off to the town's main prison, thrice a week, and attempt to set free as many willing prisoners as possible, and if there isn't any who think they don't deserve it, he will collect the bodies of the dead. That's Blade's talent. Not getting caught.
Soon, the prisoners start to turning viciously against him and refusing his help and his hospitality; including the girl he has grown to love. Why are they doing this? And who can Blade trust?
