This is a romance book about an amputee girl named Alex Kendricks, her mom is Linda Kendricks. Her mom abuses her, and when she was younger she killed her younger sister, but was never caught. They end up moving to Florida, which was their 3rd time this year. She has to start a new life here, she has to spend here last 2 years of high school here. This is the last house the government will allow her family. For two years only.

Alex is a fifteen year old boy who had the worst luck in life. He'd witnessed his parents deaths, he was bounced from foster home to foster home, but this was the last time. His torture was their entertainment. His pain was what they thrived on. Then it went way too far, and he ran. There was only one person he trusted, and it was the boy he met at school on his first day there. He barely knew this boy, but when he needed a friend, this sweet, raven haired boy told him the most important word that he hadn't heard in a long time. "You're safe." Safe was something Alex hadn't felt since he was a child, and even then, after the truth all came out, he realized he had never been safe in the first place.
