Inspired by the Hunger Games.
DON'T READ IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED THE FIRST BOOK.
This is an original poem I wrote about a month ago. I was inspired after reading the Hunger Games and we were studying poetry in English class, specifically ballads. So I wrote a ballad for Rue from District 11 because the emotion in that particular scene was too raw to ignore. Enjoy!

This story is Gale's, his outlook on the games, his feelings about his best friend's situation, and his interactions with the people of District 12. The story is set during the time period of "The Hunger Games" (book one of the trilogy). It is written from the perspective of Gale Hawthorne, and does not concern any events in books two and three. This is my first fan fiction, my first "real" attempt at long form prose writing, and my first Wattpad story. I appreciate constructive feedback, but please, no hate. While the characters and some plot points are based off of Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games Trilogy, (which I in no way own the rights to) I have created this story using my own imagination. But still battling with Trauma from the games she managed to find the light in the darkness. Finnick Odair met her from being a mentor for his own district and after she won he helped her through the trauma that he knew came with winning the games. But after Katniss and Peeta win the games and a spark is ignited among the districts and the victors are called back for another game. They knew nothing would ever be the same again.
