Summary
Alec Lightwood is a lawyer at Gray & Carstairs law firm having put himself through law school by working part-time at Santiago's 24h restaurant and Herondale Kickboxing School. Although he now works full time, after being homeless for several months when he was 18. Seven years later, he still worries about his finances and security. He struggles to open up to people and make close relationships-that is until he meets Magnus Bane.
Magnus is a famous model who is thought of by the public as a party boy, playboy. He had been modelling for Night Children Modelling Agency for about two years because he was dating the CEO, Camille Belcourt. He quits after he catches Camille verbally abusing her employees but she threatened to end him if he ever tried to break up with her again.
Alec meets Magnus by saving him from a man hired to beat him up and then offers to represent him in his case against Camille.
