Ever since Ichigo got his Soul Reaper powers back, he has been getting more reckless as he fights. This gets Rukia concerned, because she thinks he is starting to not care about those around him. She confronts him about it, but he immediately denies her claims. So, Rukia hangs out with Ichigo to see what could be the cause of his reckless and careless behavior. As the days go by, the more Rukia realizes that she might be falling for the orange-haired Soul Reaper.

She finds herself falling in love with a certain soul reaper, dealing with the many challenges of now being a full time substitute Soul Reaper.

Both Karakura and the Soul Society live peacefully and quietly until, during a binge party to celebrate the two months of peace organized by the commander captain Shunsui Kyoraku, this one had a wonderful idea: gather some of the strongest Soul Reapers and make them participate in a 32 fighting tournament. Hitsugaya is in charge to notifying about the tournament to Ichigo and Rukia who are currently living in a rented apartment. Later then, he gathers some of his friends along with Rukia, Yoruichi and Urahara to participate in the tournament.
