In a different reality where the events of the Outsiders stop before Ponyboy runs away, the Curtis brothers live their day to day lives, getting in trouble causing mischief and even falling into unexpected romances. Darry spanks the boys in order to keep them in line, though there is a lot more to this book than just spanking. The plot gets thick and messy and tackles greaser gang problems. There is an abundance of punishments, family, mischief, love and finding one's self in a world much more complicated than the it seems at first glance.
