Rey has just defeated palpatine. She knew her time was about to be up. She felt weak, powerless. Now that Ben was gone, there was nothing left for her. So she let go. She released her soul.
Ben crawled up from the huge hole in the ground that palpatine pushed him into, trying to End his life. He looked up and saw Rey laying on the floor. Not moving. Not breathing. In a panic, he limped his way over to her and held on to her. He used every bit of power he had left to bring her back, hoping she will live a better life now that the first order is gone forever. He gently placed his hand on her lifeless body and let the last bit of life he had In himself go into Reys body. She awoke from death. She looked right into bens eyes and smiled.
"Ben?" She whispered as she caressed his face.
Ben smiles at her, looks deep into her eyes, and they kiss. Once they pulled away, Ben gives Rey one last smile, before his soul leaves his body and vanished forever.
He didn't die as Kylo Ren. He died as Ben Solo.

He watched as she turned her body toward him, bringing her magnificent dual-bladed, bright white lightsaber to bear, her lips pulling back in a vicious sneer as she sought what she had yet to realize he was here to offer her willingly. Deflecting one last bolt and seeing her raise her weapon with the start of a battle cry intended to lend her extra strength, Ben thumbed his lightsaber off and dropped to his knees at her feet, his head bowed and his eyes closed. Rey, an abandoned nobody, fought side by side with the powerful Kylo Ren. She saw a future in him, a redemption of Ben Solo. She believed it, and a part of her still does Kylo Ren, Ben Solo, the son of a Skywalker and the grandson of Darth Vader, turned to the dark side by the never calm conflict within him. He killed his own Supreme Leader for the scavenger girl, but now it seems the girl has no more faith in Ben Solo and he is lost. She's lost faith in him, she believes her vision was only a vision. But she just can't seem to forget the look in his eyes when he fought by her, when he killed his Supreme Leader, when he understood her after the dark cave consumed her. She can't seem to forget him. Then there's Resistance pilot Poe Dameron. Rey hardly knows him and yet now she's strongly captivated by him, drawn to him by an aura that feels so positive and so warm and welcome. Based on Star Wars ep. VII: The Force Awakens. "You... you're afraid." I say looking back at him defyingly. "That you'll never be as strong as Darth Vader." I say his hand moving away from me instantly and he takes a step back finally my body gets released from his hold. I notice the expression from his face breaking completely, he is confused even rattled. I breathe heavily and keep staring back at him proud of myself as he picks up his mask and exits the room leaving me tied up to the interrogation chair. How was I able to do all of that? ------ This book is part 1 of my rewrite series. I figured that if If I wanted to rewrite TLJ and TROS the only correct way would be by also doing TFA so here is that. Also, this book is going to be very similar to the movie to a point where it is almost identical but since it's written with different points of views we get to know more about the characters and where they come from. It is very canon compliant especially when talking about the different character backstories. That being said, this doesn't mean that the next two books are going to be the exact same as the movies I want to take the other books in a completely different way. Kylo feels his father's hand upon his face the watched as his father falls into the abyss. "Your journey nears its end." A sinister voice now whispers, and a flash of blue light reveals a fleet of Imperial Star Destroyers filling the vastness of space as blue fire leaps between them. A powerful red laser of an unseen weapon obliterates the surface of a planet. Shrieks, whispers and screams and then the sound of a lightsaber igniting. A fiery red saber but behind that saber is Rey, her hand twitches and the saber becomes a double-pronged staff. A maniacal evil laugh cackles. Kylo woke with a start and sat upright on his bed. Written after the first trailer dropped and finished before the film was released. Contains references to previous films, novelisations and comics. It seemed like an understatement almost. He needed her. Every second that Rey wasn't with him felt like torture. He couldn't let her know that. He also desperately clung to the darkness. His darkness was what fueled him and what kept him going. He couldn't possibly give that up. The girl was a conundrum. "Liar," Rey whispered. She crossed the distance between them. Now, they were only a few inches apart, separated by the bars of the cell. "You're right," he smiled. Yet again, it didn't reach his eyes. Rey was right. He could barely stand to be someone he wasn't. But his past called for him. "I am a liar. A manipulative beast." He reached out and tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ear. "You would do well to stay away." She stepped back. She had felt a jolt of something when he touched her. Like she was being set on fire, but she loved it. "St- Stay away from me," she stuttered.
