James August is only a teenager when his parents die. To make matters worse he can't seem to remember any part of his life before their death. After spending a couple of years trying, unsuccessfully, to discover something that would cure him he starts searching for a way to start his life again. Trident, one of the biggest facilities on Eden, is taking applications, and by some stroke of luck, he gets in. Now he must fight his way through training, trials, friendships, and his own mind to officially join Trident and start his new life.

Imagine the second you're born, a consultant removes you from your mother's grasp and runs a battery of genetic and physiological tests on you.
