Katniss Everdeen just wants a normal life. Her and Peeta Mellark, her fellow tribute during both the 74th and 75th annual Hunger Games, now live in District 12, like they used to. Gale Hawthorne, Katniss' hunting partner and friend, lives and works in District 2. Both Peeta and Gale are madly in love with Katniss, but she can only choose one of them. When Katniss thinks her mind is finally made up on Peeta, suddenly Gale is pulled back into her life. Will she change her mind? Or will she realize that Peeta is what she wants?? We know her story. But have you ever wondered what it was like on the home front, in District 12? This story is Gale's, his outlook on the games, his feelings about his best friend's situation, and his interactions with the people of District 12. The story is set during the time period of "The Hunger Games" (book one of the trilogy). It is written from the perspective of Gale Hawthorne, and does not concern any events in books two and three. This is my first fan fiction, my first "real" attempt at long form prose writing, and my first Wattpad story. I appreciate constructive feedback, but please, no hate. While the characters and some plot points are based off of Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games Trilogy, (which I in no way own the rights to) I have created this story using my own imagination.
