"Max, please look at me." He begged with a soft tone as he pulled my chair a little closer to him and kneeled down as he took my hands in his, if this was even rational, I swear I almost felt my vagina got a heartbeat.
Finally I lowered my eyes to meet his green ones.
"Maxine...I love you." He said as he brought my hand to his cheek and closed his eyes feeling my touch.
I took a frustrated breath as I blinked twice to hold back the threatening tears.
"You don't mean it." Was all I could manage to say, "you're just feeling sorry for me...I don't blame you tho."
He opened his eyes wide as if I just said the most crazy thing is the world.
"No, Max, I mean it I swear to you, don't tell me that you didn't notice it this whole month." He looked away taking a sharp breath, "every time I look at you my heart starts beating so fast, you make me nervous Max, no one ever made me feel this way before, you got me wrapped around your fingers, why can't you see that?"
I looked into his eyes as I let go a long breath, god I've forgotten to breath, "why now Alan? We've been friends for our entire lives now you're telling me that you feel this way about me?" I didn't mean to shout at him but I couldn't help it, he was stressing me out.
"I was stupid, blind I...I don't know, I started feeling that way since you started hanging out with that asshole, I've realized how much you mean to me, the idea of you being with someone else just made me go insane." He told me as he stood up taking my hand so I stood in front of him.
He took me by surprise when he put his hands on my waist and pulled me closer to him.
He brought one hand to my cheek and wiped a way an escaped tear then started running his thumb Along my cheekbone.
" I know that you feel something towards me Maxine, something strong, you just don't want to admit it." He said and I lowered my head but he brought his hand to my chin forcing me to look up into his eyes, "I love you Maxine, and I'll wait for you to be ready to admit it."
