MJ thought once he left his annoying brother behind, he would forget their disagreements, but he was wrong. Now he must save his younger brother from the trouble he has gotten himself into, without even knowing it was Willy that was in the middle of it all. Will and Evalyn are kidnapped to Skandia, where they are separated and sold as slaves. However, this story is a bit different. Erak is already an Oberjarl and has recently established new laws to improve the lives of slaves. Despite this, the village Will ends up in doesn't seem to follow those laws. Will he survive until help arrives? Will help arrive at all? In the kingdom of Araluen, things are also not quite the same as we know them. Based on the 3rd and 4th books by John Flanagan, this is a completely reimagined story. Because why not? I don't own any rights to John Flanagan's novels, nor do I make any profit from them. I simply give free rein to my imagination and write whatever comes to mind, inspired by his works. You'll meet familiar characters from the books here, as well as some I've invented. Disheartened by the turn of events far from in his favor, he must learn how to get by. When a Ranger visits his life is turned upside-down. Suddenly he's caught in the middle of action when all he wanted was peace and quiet, his humble village in danger, and only he can save it. -- Trigger/content warning for a little bit of blood/gore and self-sacrificial feelings. I didn't go too far with either because I cannot handle gore or want to make you upset, just enough for the plot. If you've read Flanagan's Ranger's Apprentice or Brotherband Chronicles (both for tweens and without any TW's that I know of) and been okay, you should be perfectly fine here.Complete
