Years ago, humans and dragons were at war.
As punishment for their violence, both species were cursed by an angry goddess. Ever since then, dragons have been confined to human bodies while humans have completely forgotten about magic.
But Jaden Longtail, a former dragon, doesn't want it to be this way. He was only a child when everyone was cursed, and he wants to experience the thrill of being g a dragon and flying through the skies. But the only way to do so would be to confront the gods themselves, in the Realm of Clouds.
Regaining Wings is a fantasy novella and my entry for ONC 2020 using prompts #24 and #29.

Recently republished the chapters just so they exist somewhere but I've stopped writing on Wattpad so I don't plan on continuing this. (same situation with Dragonriders, which this is a prequel to)

After ten years, when the war of the SandWing Succession has finally come to a glorious ending and the Eye of Onyx has crowned Thorn as their new SandWing queen, Soaren, the surviving SkyWing, has been having trouble living in the pit for ten years all his life. He wanted to see the world. He wanted the sun to finally touch his scales. He wanted to spread his wings freely. His very, very large wings. When his IceWing guardian was about to die of SandWing venom, Soaren was determined to save him by travelling to the Rainforest, where he heard he could retrieve the cure for the venom. The Random Moments of JMA
This is the beginning of the story of a friend group of dragons attending a much more developed and populated version of Jade Mountain Academy. Starting in the Quartz Winglet in the year 5058 A.S., these students live average lives and as the series goes on, things develop and change, mentally and physically for them. I would consider this a Wings of Fire fanfiction, although it's a bit complicated as it's based off of real life. The dragons in this are all my classmates as their Wings of Fire OCs, (meaning some of the OCs aren't mine) or, if they don't know wings of fire and/or don't have an OC, just them as a WoF dragon. Since it's based off of real life, it doesn't have much of a plot, so be prepared for that. This is the first book in the Random Moments of JMA series, and things change as the series goes.Concluida

And why does she keep having visions of nothing but pitch blackness? Did something happen to her niece? And what will happen when a bully Skywing keeps making her doubt that being a hybrid is somehow wrong? Will Spirit be able to recover her regular self or will she give up and become a doormat? And how will a secret admirer come into play? Especially when Spirit begins to get more visions of strange giant creatures deep within the ocean.
