Years ago, humans and dragons were at war.
As punishment for their violence, both species were cursed by an angry goddess. Ever since then, dragons have been confined to human bodies while humans have completely forgotten about magic.
But Jaden Longtail, a former dragon, doesn't want it to be this way. He was only a child when everyone was cursed, and he wants to experience the thrill of being g a dragon and flying through the skies. But the only way to do so would be to confront the gods themselves, in the Realm of Clouds.
Regaining Wings is a fantasy novella and my entry for ONC 2020 using prompts #24 and #29.
Qualified for round 2!
Recently republished the chapters just so they exist somewhere but I've stopped writing on Wattpad so I don't plan on continuing this. (same situation with Dragonriders, which this is a prequel to)

I stopped, getting my first look at the dragon who'd scared me. He was a Leafwing, about seven years old like me, with emerald green scales and beautiful sky blue eyes. The room felt hot all of a sudden. Is it just me, or am I blushing? ----------------------------------------------------------- Pelco is so excited to go to Jade Mountain Academy. She's finally going to learn about the other tribes! At school, she meets Oaktail, a Leafwing, and developes a crush on him. But when two students go missing, her life is turned upside-down. Things only go downhill, when everyone seems to suspect that Oaktail is responsible for the disapperences. He was sent to the fiery hell to serve the time in imprisonment for his crimes. And now, after a century, the dragon has his own life, away from the creatures, in the world of humans, he lives just like any other human being, working and breathing for himself. His peaceful life turns not so peaceful when the creatures from the past start coming around to persuade him to come back. But the dragon has his mind set. I dedicate this story as a gift to her and all her readers!* Aspen wasn't the only one to be kidnapped and turned into a dragonet, but she WAS the only one who had a something to hide, outside of their human intelligence. Armed with nothing but the wings on her back and the claws on her feet, Aspen did her best just to survive her new environment. The Random Moments of JMA
This is the beginning of the story of a friend group of dragons attending a much more developed and populated version of Jade Mountain Academy. Starting in the Quartz Winglet in the year 5058 A.S., these students live average lives and as the series goes on, things develop and change, mentally and physically for them. I would consider this a Wings of Fire fanfiction, although it's a bit complicated as it's based off of real life. The dragons in this are all my classmates as their Wings of Fire OCs, (meaning some of the OCs aren't mine) or, if they don't know wings of fire and/or don't have an OC, just them as a WoF dragon. Since it's based off of real life, it doesn't have much of a plot, so be prepared for that. This is the first book in the Random Moments of JMA series, and things change as the series goes.Complete
