And causing humans who saw even just a glimpse of them, become "black eyed walkers", slaves of the alien army. Harriet and her family do everything in there power to stay safe, but after a series of tragic events, five years passing, and Harriet being the only member of her family left alive, who now has a child of her own, a dog she accompanied along the way of survival, and a husband she fell madly for. She deals with the weight of protecting her family on her own as well as more survivors, and trying to change what brought the world to an apocalypse, back to normal. Could Harriet be capable of saving the rest of mankind from the aliens possession without using her hearing or sight? Read to find out, in this coming of age story: "Hearken"

She doesn't trust him, he's not the first to claim to be her savour for purely selfish reasons, but something tells her that there's something more to him, and not in a bad way. ~ Content warning for ableism, family issues (including abuse, I don't perceive it as especially graphic, but it's there) and depictions of meltdowns.
