Kai Chisaki became Izuku's everything.

After kidnapping him when he was 12, torturing him for information on his villainous father, and letting him go with the promise of keeping his mouth shut, the young Yakuza ends up ordering Kurono to adopt Izuku for two reasons.

Izuku was quirkless, and despite all of the starvation and torture he was forced to endure, the pre-teen still held some form of kindness towards him.

In the harsh and unforgiving world that Kai lived in, he was more than curious to observe and exploit Izuku's kindness that he saw as an anomaly. And that's precisely what he does as he broke Izuku and built him back up to live for him and what he wanted.

2 years later, he goes too far one night and starts developing a deeper obsession over the teen while also beginning to feel regret. So, in a rash decision that seemed logical at the time, he lets Izuku acquire a quirk and enroll in UA the following year, all to satisfy the small urge for Izuku to be happy.

But what will happen when it's now the second semester of Izuku's first year, and the Shie Hassaikai get arrested due to an anonymous tip-off to their base and Kai's plans?

What Happens in the Pit by Caelan_94
6 parts Complete
BakuDeku - Midoriya Izuku found himself quirkless and quickly at the non-existent mercy of his classmates as he entered middle school. Every day he survived, he was beating the odds, even as the bruises teased at his nerves through his skin, taunting him long after his tormentors' fists had last made physical contact. When he found the fighting ring, he expected to just become a living punching bag, really. He didn't expect people to look past his quirklessness and take him under their wing, essentially training their own competition. He didn't expect to get good at it, and he didn't expect to be noticed when he did. When Izuku and Katsuki got accepted into UA, the class cheered for Katsuki and jeered at Izuku for daring to pretend to be in the same league as someone like Katsuki, even when Izuku only managed to make it into general studies. So, Katsuki went to UA, and Izuku quietly said, "thanks for the opportunity, but no thanks," and switched to an advanced online schooling option. It was just the rule of the world, and rules were rules. Some things couldn't be helped. Besides... He had a feeling UA would ask too many questions about the constant bruising blooming so beautifully across his face that Aldera staff had so pointedly ignored. And even if UA didn't ask questions about the bruises and abrasions on his face, they definitely would about the ones across his busted knuckles. In the Pit, Midoriya Izuku didn't exist. In the Pit, he was Viper. In the Pit, Viper was a quirkless fighter who still faced prejudice and bias, but everyone fought quirkless in the Pit, so at least it was a level playing field. In the real world, Midoriya Izuku put on a smile and explained his bruises away on him being quirkless and finding himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. In the Pit, Viper fought back viciously quick and calculating, earning every bruise and giving back just as many. And sometimes he even won.

!! GOING THROUGH EDITS !! The "Princess" of the Hassaikai, Soojin Moon is treated like royalty by all those who serve under Kai Chisaki, otherwise known as Overhaul, the leader of the yakuza group. She's been with them ever since she was "exported" from South Korea by her biological parents. In all honesty, she is Overhaul's loyal lap dog, bound tightly by his leash- trapped in his cage. But when sent on a mission to infiltrate UA, she's faced with conflicting ideals (and social anxiety) and pressure from both Kai and her new classmates. She's faced with her old dream-becoming a hero. Will Soojin remain loyal to her master? Or will she succumb to her own desires and break free from the shackles of her master? NOTE: class 1-a are 3rd years. todoroki family dynamic is okay now...still kinda strained but they attended family therapy. liberation arc and the others going to the current point in the manga do NOT happen AT ALL other than provisional license stuff. any advancements in any hero's quirk (mainly deku) either don't happen yet or are have developed in a reasonable way. this story is the hassaikai arc. every character will be written to the best of my memory (lazy to reread/rewatch), so ooc moments are bound to happen. also, soojin's quirk, "waterbending", works EXACTLY as it does in atla/tlok minus the chi blocking stuff. -------------------------------- 𝙏𝙒!! gore, graphic violence, [substance] abuse, manipulation, and depictions of sh and death read at your own risk. -------------------------------- started: 03.17.21 ended: tbd status: ongoing; editing I do not own anything in this book except my oc(s) and plot. Credits go to Horikoshi Kohei, ATLA, and TLOK. Please tell me if you think anything has been copied!! art: @t0segaNAM on twt (i found the greyscale on pinterest, it's in color on twt)

(Note: I do not own this story it is from ao3 by daylightbreaks ) In another world, Chisaki Kai is a ruthless, cruel man who stops at nothing to rid the world of quirks. In this one, however, he draws lines: one being Eri. He cares for her, treats her like his own daughter. And for his precious daughter, he needs somebody to help care for her, somebody who isn't one of the Eight Bullets or a member of the Yakuza. Enter one Midoriya Izuku: quirkless, protective, and the perfect candidate to be her babysitter. Now if only Chisaki could just stop worrying about the boy, too, that would be great. (No, Chronostasis, he does not have 'paternal instincts,' thank you very much!) Or: Midoriya Izuku (accidentally) turns the Yakuza into the good morally grey guys.
