The day that Meadowbrooke stables burnt down was bound to change Harper smith's life for ever. How? No one knew, but while going through the rubble that used to be Meadowbrooke stable, the fireman find a survivor. Phoenix is a three year old quarter horse who survived the fire only because  he had been in the breezeway after unlocking his stall door, but since he was eating some grain he had found, he did not realize that there was a fire until a few minutes after it had started. he managed to escape with only a few minor burns, but also with a major few humans because he saw who started the fire.
Harper Smith lives on her mother's horse rescue with her mother and a few of the stable hands. Harper has been riding before she could walk and is a senior in high school and would probably be considered one of the popular kids, but that's not how she sees it and when Phoenix arrives after purchasing him from his owners for a mere 250$ because they were too stressed about the fire and the insurance. the stable next door has been bought after being for sale for 5 years, but by who?
Will Harper and Phoenix be able to trust each other?
