"From every wound there is a scar, and every scar tells a story. A story that says, I survived."
- Craig Scott

                                            ---

The cold floor contrasted the warm body laid against her own. Her legs wrapped around his waist and she leaned up to connect their lips once more. A sizzling heat spread across her body as he dipped down to softly kiss down her neck.

"I-i," he stopped with a huff that tickled her neck, "kinda hoped I wouldn't stutter."

Jocelyn couldn't help but chuckle, her right hand holding the back of his head. "It's okay, baby. It's honestly cute."

"Well I'm not exactly trying to be cute right now."

- Completed 9/26/25 - His eyes bore into hers, fierce and desperate. "When I'm with you, Zara, I feel something real-a connection that I thought had died with my marriage. You're not just another name on the roster; you're fire and passion wrapped in a body that makes me want to be better." Each word dripped with sincerity as his heart bared itself before her, raw and vulnerable. "I was scared of what that meant for me. Scared of losing control because for once in my life, it felt like maybe-just maybe-I could have something worth fighting for." The truth hung heavy between them as he swallowed hard against the emotions pooling in his throat. Zara's gaze softened momentarily as if she felt the weight of his admission sink deep into her bones. But just as quickly as her expression shifted, her defenses snapped back into place. "Had you told me this the day I confronted you in the medic room," she said slowly, her voice steady despite the tremor of vulnerability beneath it, "I would've accepted it. But now it's too little too late." Randy felt as though she'd slapped him across the face with those words, the sting of her rejection cutting deeper than he could've anticipated. Every muscle in his body tensed, and the breath fled his lungs as he struggled to comprehend the weight of her finality. However, much to his dismay, he nodded in acceptance, turned his back and walked out of her room. They broke her trust. They broke his mind. But when the past claws its way back, survival isn't enough - vengeance demands blood. Victoria learned how to stay quiet. Grief became her shadow, guilt her constant companion. It whispered in her ear that she should have been the one to die instead. Not her mother. Never her mother. If she had, maybe her father wouldn't have walked away, leaving them to fend for themselves. But silence is a fragile shield-and when the past resurfaces, dragging her into a world she barely escaped, she realizes staying quiet won't save her this time. Xavier learned how to disappear behind scars, behind rage, behind the monster his past made him. Forged by cruelty, built by betrayal, and fueled by rage, he became the kind of man other monsters feared. Scars became his armor. Violence, his language. He doesn't believe in mercy-only vengeance. Especially for the man who made him this way. Victoria was everything he had been taught to avoid - soft yet unbreakable, damaged yet defiant. She had the kind of pain that mirrored his own, a past carved into her bones, a war waged behind tired eyes. She saw through him in ways no one else had ever dared, and he hated it. Hated her. Because she made him feel. He was chaos wrapped in quiet fury, a storm threatening to consume everything in its path. And yet, when she looked at him, she didn't just see the monster - she saw the man who had once fought to hold on to his soul. But love between two broken people is never easy. It's volatile. Cruel. A constant push and pull, neither of them willing to surrender, both too damaged to truly hold on. The closer they get, the more dangerous the stakes become. Yet, for all the ways they fought against it, they kept coming back to each other.

"Being mute isn't a disability. It just means that God loves you so much that He took away your voice so that you don't hurt others verbally. You see, He doesn't want you to do what others are doing to you." ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ When Sierra Bloom suffers a tragedy that costs her both her family and her voice, she shuts down every bit of emotion and passion within her and brings out a new and cold her that doesn't like being around people and things that are easy to get attached to. Enter David Hale. Cheerful, bright, friendly -a shocking contrast to her cold, closed off personality. Not only does David do things she dislikes, he also does not know when to give up on her. What is Sierra supposed to do when he keeps bringing out the old her and makes her forget the tragedy she caused? The answer is obvious; shut him out and run away. That's the solution.... right? ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ This book was written in 2013, back when I was still pretty much a kid. It hasn't been edited and there are many issues I find with it. I may or may not edit//re-write, but if I do I don't think I'll post it here. At least, for now. In any case, the person I was then is not the person I am now lmaoo but I'm still proud of younger me for this cute little thing. I love all my lovely, LOVELY readers who have sent me such beautiful messages about this book ♥ Thank you for loving my book, it means the world to me. ⌔ - 2023 Update ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ Achievements: General Fiction: #81 Romance: #186 Kisses: #4 ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ ⌔ All Rights Reserved.
