A coming of age story set in Miami, 1995.
Lauren Jauregui is a high school senior who is all about softball, music records, getting stoned, rolling with the "burnouts", and although she does extremely well in school she doesn't see a future for herself the way the adults around her do.
Karla Camila Cabello is the girl-next-door almost everyone crushes on, sucks terribly in school, is secretly drawn to the "burnouts" although her clique is the "preppy" cheerleaders/jocks who can sometimes get a little rowdy, and her only ambition in life is to get the hell out of Miami to be an actress on the west coast.
Both girls have boyfriends although they are closeted lesbians, and both try to navigate through the difficulty of discovering/living with their sexuality and wanting to be with each other + the risk of seeing each other in secret to avoid social damnation and shaming from their cliques as a result of the widely homophobic/close minded county they reside in. Will they figure it all out before graduation comes? Will their lives stay on the same path after graduation or will they part ways and accept that some things just aren't meant to work out and last?
Mel had a hell of a career behind her. Years in the military before she settled to be a nurse in a Base she used to serve in.
She was good. One of the best.
She liked being a nurse. But that should change really soon. Task force 141 needs help and she's
the one that should help. Will this end well?
