It's Alex's last year in university. At 22, he has it all going for him. Girls, looks, personality. One could say he is the man of your dreams. So what happens when one fine day, his parents tell him that he has been set-up in an arranged contractual marriage? The best part, it's to a guy. Alex and Henry are newly engaged and planning their wedding as Alex's first Congressional election is coming up. While Henry is done with being in the spotlight, he's always knew that to love Alex, he'll have to continue to be. But as the wedding approaches, it eats at him as he realizes Alex and him want different lives. Alex, meanwhile is too wrapped up in politics to see how much Henry is suffering, and in his attempt to balance being everything to everyone, turns to vice. Will this be the thing that tears them apart? How can they both be happy if one of them has to sacrifice the life they have always desired? Follows book cannon (but not the bonus chapter exactly) and takes place 6 years after the end of the book. Chapters will alternate being told from Henry and Alex's POVs. TRIGGER WARNINGS: mental health issues, drug and alcohol use, disordered eating, profanity, and (light) sexual content Note: Please consider the politics in this story to be a very fictional representation, and they do NOT truly represent US politics.
