Epic fantasy from the author of The Nameless Dwarf. Cadman's Gambit is the first book of the Shader series.

The exiled scientist Sektis Gandaw has searched for thousands of years for the artifact he needs to unweave all creation. When he finally detects a trace of its power, he sends his flesh-eating minions to claim it.

Pitted against him is the holy knight, Deacon Shader, veteran of the wars against the undead armies of the Liche Lord, and prepared for this task since the day he was born. The only problem is, Shader is done with fighting, and desires only a life of quiet contemplation. At least that's what he tells himself.

While cosmic forces battle it out for the fate of all existence, a former pupil of the Liche Lord, Dr Cadman, stumbles upon the artifact and decides to throw centuries of caution to the wind. After all, it's not really much of a choice: a half-life leeching off the blood of others, or the perfect immortality promised by this mysterious power from beyond the stars.

The Codex Morvalis: A Scholar's Testament The complete guide to a world where cosmic forces shape destiny. Magister Thaddeus Vallen breaks academic protocol to compile the most comprehensive guide to Morvalis ever attempted. After seven decades of cross-disciplinary research, this brilliant scholar risks censure to share knowledge the specialized academies have kept locked away in separate towers. From the cosmic forces that emerged from Primordial Chaos to the political intrigue of the Sovereign Pentarchy, from ancient bloodlines whose decline threatens reality itself to the shadow entities born from human trauma-this is the world in its entirety. Magic systems with deadly consequences. Cities where pattern-mages and storm-workers shape civilization. Families torn apart by ambition and cosmic forces beyond their control. But this isn't just worldbuilding for its own sake. Somewhere on a distant battlefield, a young man named Callan Tanner carries magical potential that could reshape everything-if he survives to claim it. The bloodline anchors are failing, shadow manifestations multiply in the darkness, and the delicate balance between creation and chaos grows ever more precarious. Twenty-two entries. One scholar's race against time to preserve knowledge before it's lost forever. A fantasy world where what we feel literally shapes what becomes real. Enter the Codex. Discover what lies beyond imagination.

Welcome, traveler. Step into the Crownless Lands-a realm that should have been golden but never was. The maps still show grand borders; the songs still promise glory. But up close you'll find frayed banners, broken vows, and people trying to live between the teeth of history. Here, adventurers hunt fortunes that refuse to be found. Heroes rise late or fall early. Important Note: The story follows multiple destinies; chapters are non-sequential and jump between plots across the Crownless Lands.
Another Stupid Spell de billricardi
20 partes Concluida
Another Stupid Spell is a first person high fantasy novel, the likes of which hasn't been seen in 60 years. The tone and vocabulary of the story shifts as our narrator, Sorch the orc, finds ways to enhance his intelligence. You get to grow as Sorch grows, learn as he learns, and share his most intimate thoughts. Sorch is an orc mage in a world where orcs are cursed with stupidity every time they cast a spell. The only spell he can safely cast is Enhance Intelligence, which boosts his IQ for a fraction of a second before the curse drains it all away again. Normally casting such a spell would be pointless, but Sorch's tribe has found a way to benefit. Magic that is cast near a mysterious artefact called the 'Voodoo Engine' causes invisible hands to appear, and these hands get work done for his tribe. Sorch is a slave to the Voodoo Engine, casting a single spell over and over again to avoid being beaten by the chief's warrior caste. While foraging for food on one fateful night, our hero happens upon two human mages who are in big trouble. He saves their lives, and in return they give him an amulet that will make his life easier. Unbeknownst to the humans, their gift grants Sorch the power to break the cycle of intelligence drain and physical abuse. With the help of his friend and mentor, Shaman, Sorch becomes a real mage. Sorch leaves his swamp and embarks on a series of incredibly exciting and dangerous adventures. During his travels he encounters horrible injury, magical treasures, love, snow, university admissions tests, a plot against the Kingdom, and then of course he saves the world. Or does he? Be prepared to rethink everything you know about thinking. If your own intelligence was the fuel that your magic ran on, how brightly would you dare to burn?
