This article will explain how to transform soot into ink, tattoo ink. Actually it can also be used as a drawing or writing ink, but doesn't work as well for that because of the chemical compounds. Now, I'm no chemist. I don't claim to know why it works, I just know it works. Kind of like my microwave. I don't know how it works, I just know it works. If you haven't read "How to Make Prison Ink (part1)" then you should. That will get you up to speed on what is needed to get this far. The next group of things you are going to need are as follows: the soot that you made, a plastic container (such as a vitamin jar), some rubbing alcohol, about 3-4 small stones or ball bearings, water, and a way to heat the water. Take the soot that you made. It will make a mess in a hurry so handle with care. The soot needs to be separated and liquefied. There are as many different processes to do this as there are makers of ink. All of the tattooists that make their own ink have their own process and quantities, and they all protect their secret. They think their process is better than the competition. I am not sure which is the best. I only had the privilege to learn one process, but I know from asking questions, that different tattooists use different quantities of these items or use a different process altogether. I have heard of inmates burning wood, and even melting down and burning the black chess pieces in order to make ink, but the bottom line is, you need soot to make ink.
