The Sharded Blade (Part 1: Ghosts of the Past) was my entry into the 2020 Open Novella Contest (#OpenNovellaContest2020) and is approximately 24k words. It didn't place in the Top 5 and win, but it did receive a very kind Honorable Mention from the Wattpad Ambassadors who ran the contest. I am deeply thankful for all of you who read and enjoyed this story.  Parts 2 and 3 (turning this into an entire novel length story) are currently being worked on.

This story is based on the following two prompts ... with some liberties taken:
