Patton sighed, placing his phone on the lunch table in front of him. He turned to look at his best friend, Logan, who was sitting beside him.

"Joe isn't responding to my texts.. and he still isn't at school today. I'm worried about him. What do you think happened?"

Logan places a comforting hand on Patton's shoulder. "There is no need to worry, Patton. I have no clue what may have happened to Joe, but I'm sure he is perfectly healthy and safe."

Everything Logan just said was a lie.

That was all eighteen years ago. The couple had a son now, and their past was truly in the past.
