There was loud creaking above us. He was coming downstairs. I pulled Kamryn closer to me, holding her tight. Did I regret what I did? Not in the slightest. Are the consequences okay? Not at all. I should have left it. But the poor girl needed my help, and who was I to let her down? It was terrible what they did there at that house. I wish I could have saved all the girls. The aftermath was absolutely terrifying, not going to lie. He was coming closer, so I push my hand over Kamryn's mouth. She was breathing too loud. I tried to control my own breathing aswell. The room was dark and every step he took rang louder and louder. My heart was in my throat. I was shivering. Why was I so afraid of a family member? Oh right yeah I forgot. He has a gun. And a motive. Why else would he be so desperate to kill me?

"Is that a damn dog?" Merle asked Daryl, who had paused to light a smoke stopped, just before the lighter touched the cigarette. Looking towards the house he sees the familiar white and black speckled fur, stained with red. "Son of bitch." He hisses, the lighter and cigarette hitting the ground as he raced to the house. Merle was confused but was fast on his brother's heels, they bust into the house and found it was quiet besides the sound of dishes clattering in the sink and water swishing. They share a look before entering the kitchen, there they spot their sister. Aspen stood at the sink with her back to them, washing dishes as their father sat at the table eating and drinking. Merle stayed in the doorway of the kitchen, watching his younger siblings as Daryl approached their sister like she was a spooked fawn. Daryl kept his voice gentle as he spoke "The hell happened?" She didn't face him, didn't make a sound, but he noticed how she scrubbed harder at the pan, chipping some of the coating. "I shot that damn dog." Daryl faced his father, anger settling in his gaze "What?" Updates every Saturday or Sunday.
