When Dante drinks the blood of a woman with AIDS, his health takes a turn for the worse. His immune system should be infallible, but here he is: every day, he wakes up healthy, only to attract another painful and rare disease during the day that is miraculously cured at night. It is a never-ending cycle and dreams and reality seem to blend into nothing but pain.

And unlike Prometheus, there will not be a Heracles to kill the eagle and break the chains. He'll have to save himself, but can he do that when he's his own worst enemy? There's no antidote for life or suffering.

"Fi, I flirted with you mercilessly," Dante was beginning to look a little self-conscious, his brows drawn together in a soft frown. "Yeah, but that was just teasing and stuff. This is like a whole world different," Dante was silent for an entire agonising minute, merely staring into Fionn's eyes, before sitting up and running his hand through his hair. "You're right," he muttered, scowling down at his lap, "it was stupid of me to assume you felt the same way. It wouldn't work anyway, we'd end up killing each other," Dante rose from the bed and walked toward the bathroom. "Wait," Fionn gripped Dante's wrist, though the vampire kept his eyes on the bathroom door, "maybe it would work... Maybe I really want it to work," Fionn spoke quietly but he knew Dante would hear every word clear as day. Confused, I stood as I had to pop my back from the hard hit into the tree. Looking in the direction Achille ran off, I knew I couldn't see him because it'd be a blur. Always thought it was fascinating how when he runs you can't see it. Being a vampire must be...fascinating. Yet he makes it out to be hell. I can't understand that kind of complicity of being a vampire and the issues. I get it, they drink blood. Though there's multiple things beside humans that offer blood! He acts like it's so horrific. I would love to know what it felt like for a day. Just one day...

Dante is a demon who feels out of place in Hell. His father Lucifer is hard on him, and he spends every second he can on Earth. He wants something different, and Ariel is different. Although demons can't love, what he feels for Ariel seems a lot like love. In this angel/demon romance, God is a woman and all the characters in Heaven and Hell love whoever they want. Some characters and settings were inspired by real demons or angels, or by mythology.
