Emma "Katrina" McCarty is a vampire. Though she is young, she's met the most infamous vampires and witches the world has ever seen. She's 'dated' a few. Befriended a lot. And even had the pleasure of learning all of their back-stories.

She has no blood relatives besides her dead brothers' children. She's been alive for almost a century.

She's happens to be the keeper of the famous, yet infamous, Salvatore brothers. With three best friends, one who happens to be a doppelgänger, another who is a pixie in Forks, and another who happens to be the one and only vampire-witch hybrid in the world, she doesn't need anything else.

Moving back to Mystic Falls Virginia is one of those things she doesn't need.
