After an attack on the Jedi Academy, and the disappearance of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, a new threat rises from the ashes of the Empire, the Remnant Army, led by Supreme Leader Snoke and his apprentice Kylo Ren. Jedi Master Leia Organa Solo and Admiral Ackbar lead an effort to protect the New Republic as part of a fighting force of the Jedi First Order. In this struggle, the two factions fight to locate the elusive Luke Skywalker as a means to turn the scales of war in their favor.
