When Rosie received a letter telling her that her husband was dead, she thought that was the end of their relationship. She had no time for contemplating, especially since she was 7 months pregnant. Now, almost ten years after that, her husband is back. But stronger, more powerful. More dangerous. He wants her back. And he'll get her. Whatever it takes.

"𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐜𝐚𝐠𝐞, 𝐬𝐨 𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐞." He glared at her with a cold, harsh expression and said, "What am I supposed to do with you, my doll?" Fear washed over her, but she gathered her strength and begged, "Please let me go. My children need me. They're so young, and they can't survive without me, please." Tears streamed down her beautiful amber eyes, but she tried to hold back her emotions in front of him. The thought of her little ones made her feel suffocated and hopeless. The man seemed moved by her tears, but his face remained bitter as he said, "You should have thought about this before you ran away with that bastard." Shocked and hurt, she shot back, "Do you even hear what you're saying? Do you have any proof of these accusations?" She continued, "How could you think so little of me? We've been together for almost four years. I always believed you loved me." Tears filled her eyes as she added, "This isn't love-love is built on trust. I trusted you completely, never questioning why you came home late, why you seemed to hate me, or why you left me on our wedding night. Yet here you are, ruining my reputation without any proof." He ignored her desperate questions and tightened his grip on her neck, his eyes turning red with fury. "Trust? You talk about trust. It was my faith in love that kept you alive. If anyone else were in your place, I'd kill them without a second thought." She struggled to escape his choking hold, fighting desperately. Suddenly, he released her and walked away, his anger clear as he never looked back. Coughing and gasping for air, she lay there, her body trembling. Tears blurred her vision as she felt like a broken soul. The nightmare her life had become seemed overwhelming. 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤-𝟏: 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬

*COMPLETED* When Rosie turned thirty-one with nothing to show for it, she panicked. Suddenly it felt like her biological clock was ticking, but she didn't want to settle for a man for the sake of having a child. So, after falling down a rabbit hole of research online, she decided to find herself a sperm donor. A strangely vague profile ends up catching her interest. The only real thing she learned about him was that his name was Levi and he was in the military. One invasive and intimate procedure later, Lily was conceived. It was a few months after her daughter was born, when Rosie should have been fretting about the price of nappies and lack of sleep, her worries were overshadowed by an event she never, ever could have predicted: a zombie outbreak. Rosie locked herself away in Finches tower block, stocked up on supplies from abandoned neighbouring flats, and lived every day with the sole purpose of keeping her daughter alive. Doing so meant avoiding the dead as well as the living. She'd been doing a decent job of it so far. Until a man breaks into the tower block, but it wasn't just any man. It was Levi, Lily's literal sperm donor. And he was there to save them. -- When a bioweapon was released on UK soil, Staff Sergeant Levi James Brackley was sent from pillar to post in an attempt to help neutralise and contain. Once it was clear neither was possible the last resort was to form a safe zone on the Isle of Wight. Levi decided to stay behind. The last evac chopper left without him on board. He knew it was a shot in the dark, that they were probably dead already, but he had to try. Without knowing it, they'd become a beacon of light during the darkest time of his life. Now it was his turn to be there's.

He reminded her of a tiger- no a lion- always ready to pounce, never thinking once about their prey. Once upon a time, she was that prey. He hated her. He stalked her. He wanted her. She wanted him. They wanted each other. She was the gazelle, the wounded zebra the herd left behind. In other words, there was no way she was escaping this beast. But, somehwere in the mix of sex, hatred, and completely unnecessary outings, something else started to make itself know inside her. It made her want him more, and she already knew he wanted her with everything that was in him even though he refused that notion with every single fibre of his being. All the more, it was still there, and that left one thing. That one thing was to finally get together then, and now right? Wrong. It's all fun and games till somebody falls in love But you've already bought a ticket And there's no turning back now....
