Lance has heard tales about Yorak the Great and Terrible since he was a little boy. His parents and all of the village elders warn him that the fearsome warlock will lay a curse upon him if he dares so much as approach the lonely hilltop house from which Yorak looks down upon the villagers of Plaht. But eventually, a dry season strikes, and the conflict comes to a head and spills over. Yorak offers a deal to get the villagers off of his back once and for all: whoever can take the key from around his feline familiar's neck will marry him on behalf of the mortals, and they'll call it a truce. Yorak won't bother anybody ever again. But if the village cannot meet his requirements by year's end, he will curse them, and Plaht will never see rain again. The magick oath is sealed with a wicked mark upon the chieftain.

The time to make amends between the warlock and the mortals is running out. Lance wonders if peace can ever be achieved at all... especially when he begins to acquaint himself with the so-called monster. And begins to question the council's version of village history. Before Lance knows it, he is tangled in a quickly unraveling web of lies that threatens to change everything about his little world. He can only trust in his heart- one that is ever drawn to the mysterious Yorak- and hope that he has not made a deal with the devil.

Teased, pushed around, brushed off, alone: all words Lance McClain believes perfectly describes him. The phrases his "friends" use to prod and tease him cut deeper than they intend and he doesn't let the world see how broken he is. But Keith sees. Keith Kogane, Lance's best friend, has realised they've been growing distant and doesn't know how to talk to the person he's grown fond of and would trust with his life as his right hand man. All he wants is to fix Lance but Lance won't let him in. Earth is where they are heading and where they end up, their reunion at the Garrison with family and old friends sweet - but Lance just wants to go home and take a break from the people he's spent years in space with that he believes hate him. But when he does go home, he's caught off guard by a horrific surprise that sparks their next mission against their long-time enemy Sendak, intensifies Lance's own mental struggles, and causes the tipping point for the "slowburn romance" between he and his 'rival.' Taking place in the events after season six (and before seven), this is the story of Lance who's a boy with a broken heart and confused moral compass and of Keith, who's the boy to help Lance face his demons while he tries to conquer his own in the process. Trigger Warning for: suicidal thoughts, gore, mentions of blood, and mentions of abuse Art by Joleanart!! (This story will also have fewer chapters and two smut chapters that you can skip without missing the story too much. I don't plan on making this super drawn out. The point will get across and I hope my story does too.)

[Klance] You Can See It In The Blue

1 part Complete

As humans, you have to fight irrelevance. There are seven billion humans on Earth, approximately. Every time someone dies, someone is born to replace them, to mask the pain of loss. You, as one person, do not exist to around six billion, nine hundred ninety-nine million, nine hundred ninety-nine thousand, nine hundred ninety-five people, if you are truly loved by five persons. Luck of the draw, life on Earth is. At least, that's what the human species chooses to believe. Now, knowing more alien species exist than human races, Lance feels suffocated. He has to fight even more for that little bit of relevance, to get acknowledged. Even being the blue lion of Voltron doesn't make much difference, since rarely do they actually see him . ____________________________________________________________________ A promised vacation isn't as relaxing as Lance hopes. [Alt: Lance is forced to face his multitude of issues, which involves a slightly irritating alien 'therapist'. Totally not his idea of a break, if you ask him.]
