"Are you scared of me?" I break the silence. "Terrified." For a second his dark eyes are on mine, and he's quiet. Then he touches my face and leans in. I can tell he knows that I'm just as nervous as he is. I hate how I become vulnerable when it comes to him. I hate how I easily melt into his grasp and I hate how he must feel my heart being ripped out of my chest with the pace that it's beating at. He grins and presses his lips to mine.
